Kermanshah is a province located in the West of Iran, between the provinces of Kurdistan, Hamadan, Luristan, Ilam and bordering Iraq. The capital city of this province is Kermanshah which is 525 km away from Tehran. This city is surrounded by rocky mountains, impressively towering over all points of view. Kermanshah knew a golden age during the Achaemenid and Sassanid periods, leaving behind plenty of architectural and historical sights in the city. This region enjoys a moderate climate thanks to its mountainous location. Furthermore it is famous for its handicrafts, its sweets, a special oil known as Rune Dan or Roghan Kermanshahi and a high quality Giveh or shoe called Klash.
